Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle (CCTXP) is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust, and accordingly maintains the following privacy policy to protect your personal information. This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this web site and our other social media platforms.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to and collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.  CCTXP collects the following types of personal information:

  • • Volunteer Application – name, postal and e-mail addresses, phone (land and cell) felony convictions, gender, US citizenship, over 21, school attending, current employer, special interests.
  • • Employment application – form available online but not submitted online, must be mailed, emailed, faxed or hand delivered.
  • • Contact us – name, phone number, email, contents of your message.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to schedule a background check, provide a volunteer opportunity, etc. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, share our quarterly newsletter, or changes to this privacy policy.

Event Registration

We may request information from you on our event registration form. To register for an event, you must provide contact information (like name and mailing address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fulfill your registration. If we have trouble processing an order, we'll use this information to contact you.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:

  • • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • • Have us delete any data we have about you.

The CCTXP Commitment to Security

CCTXP encrypts billing information wherever requested online. Personal information is accessible only by staff and volunteers designated to handle complaints or requests. Your information is protected both online and offline. All CCTXP agents and contractors with access to personal information are also bound to adhere to this policy as part of their contract with CCTXP. CCTXP employs commercially reasonable managerial and technical measures to help protect the security and integrity of the personal information it collects online through this site. You acknowledge, however, that no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while CCTXP strives to protect your personal information, CCTXP cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to or from this site.

How CCTXP May Use Personal Information

Unless you consent, CCTXP will use your personal information for the purpose for which it was submitted such as to reply to inquiries, provide volunteer opportunities, register and pay for events, handle your complaints and process billing and business requests related to program participation, and we will use such information to provide operational notices, and in program record-keeping. At certain points where personal information is collected on our site, you may find a box where you may indicate you would like to be on a list to receive our newsletter or other information about CCTXP programs and services and about ways to support the CCTXP. At any time you can add or remove your name from our mailing list by contacting us through any of the ways listed, including here.

How Your Information May Be Shared

In order to process complaints, CCTXP will transfer complaints to the appropriate department head, and/or our executive director. It is also possible that a complaint, request or inquiry will be more appropriately handled by another person at CCTXP, in which case the request or inquiry will be transferred to the proper staff person. By completing a complaint form or sending us a request or inquiry, you are allowing us to forward your information to the proper staff person, if necessary. Consumer inquiries may be forwarded by email, and consumers should recognize that this method of transmission may not be secure. CCTXP never sells or rents personal information.

We may also release personal information under the following circumstances:

Where release is required by law (for example, a subpoena) or regulation, or is requested by an agency for governmental investigative purposes or governmental proceedings;
Where our records indicate a company may be engaged in fraudulent activity or other deceptive practices that a governmental agency should be made aware of;
To appropriate governmental authorities, where warranted by a company’s failure to participate in CCTXP’s advertising self-regulatory process; or
To appropriate persons, where your communication suggests possible harm to others.

If your personal information changes, you would like to review the personal information we may have on file, or there is certain information you do not want shared, please email us with the new information or your request to [email protected]. Let us also know the department or CCTXP program that led to your submission of personal information so we may efficiently locate your information.

Computer Tracking and Cookies

Our web site is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not entered by its visitors. Our site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our site. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide better services to the public and may also be provided to others. The statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. CCTXP uses non-identifying cookies to provide easier site navigation and access to forms. You can still use CCTXP site if your browser is set to reject cookies. We may, from time-to-time, request your information through our web site or other social media platforms, via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name, mailing address, email address, cell phone number and other contact information), opt in opportunities (such as quarterly newsletter, text to give, e-blast, peer to peer fundraising), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level, personal interests, etc.).
