25 years ago, one of our volunteers was delivering food to a homebound client of Catholic Charities’ Hunger Project when she discovered the recipe for Salt and Pepper Soup. It consisted of hot water with salt and pepper. What she really discovered was this was all the client had in the home to eat. That’s when the Salt and Pepper luncheon was born.
