Sonja Glasco

My name is Sonja Glasco, and I am the Director of Youth Services. In my roles here at Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle, I am a Shelter Administrator and Safe Place Coordinator. I have a Masters of Social Work from the University of Texas in Arlington, and worked for ten years at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and Licensed Child Care Administrator. I have been with Catholic Charities since 2013. My work with children and families has allowed me to be certified in equine assisted learning through EGALA, trained in the Neuro-sequential Model of Therapeutics, and trained in Trust Based Relational Intervention.

I am an active member of the Continuum of Care through the city of Amarillo addressing homelessness and working to meet the needs of those experiencing homelessness. I also work on the Freedom in the 806 anti-trafficking coalition bringing community education and activation to combat human trafficking. I am a certified instructor of SAMA – Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression, and as the Safe Place Coordinator for the National Safe Place program, was instrumental in bringing Safe Place to Amarillo.
