Title: Youth Shelter Administrator

Department: Youth Shelter

I am from Plainview Texas but have lived in Amarillo for the past 27 years. I have been with Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle since 2014. I am the Youth Shelter Administrator here at Catholic Charities, having assumed this role on October 1, 2021 after obtaining my Child Care Administrator’s License in August 2021. In my roles here at Catholic Charities, I have previously served as a Youth Shelter Case Manager as well as the Youth Shelter Assistant Administrator. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from West Texas A & M University and hold a lifetime teaching certificate for grades 1 – 8. I also have a Master of Arts in Management degree from Wayland Baptist University.

I currently serve as an active member of the Potter and Randall Counties Community Resources Coordination Group of Texas (CRCG) as a family representative with lived experience as well as a representative for Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle.

I experience true fulfillment and joy in working with the residents and the staff at the youth shelter and feel the children we serve are one of our most vulnerable populations. The shelter primarily serves children that have been placed by Child Protective Services, helping to provide them with a safe place to stay until the next place can be determined. I have always worked with children and their families in some capacity throughout my professional life and hope to continue to serve our children and advocate for them for years to come.

I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, Chris, and our two adult children, Dakota and Rainey, that I love with all my heart. I enjoy gardening, playing with our dogs, and shooting pool with my husband as well.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
